Armate di smartphone, la caporedattrice Meera e le sue reporter si oppongono alla tradizione che le vorrebbe silenziose e sottomesse, tanto in prima linea raccontando le grandi questioni che investono il paese, quanto nei confini delle loro case, ridefinendo l’emancipazione femminile nell’India contemporanea. Writing With Fire è ambientato nel cuore dell’Uttar Pradesh, lo stato più popoloso dell’India, noto per i famigerati livelli di corruzione, violenza contro le donne e la brutale oppressione delle minoranze.
